Taskforce looking into Cornelius Gurlitt's collection says it will check whether the work was stolen by Nazis
The taskforce looking into the late German collector Cornelius Gurlitt's long-hidden art trove says officials have found a landscape by Claude Monet in a suitcase that he took to a hospital.
The group said on Friday that the court-appointed administrator of Gurlitt's estate this week received the case, which had been kept at the hospital, and reported finding the light-blue landscape. It said it would check whether the work was stolen by the Nazis, as it was doing with many other works in Gurlitt's collection.
